More Ethereal Take On The Lighthouse

I was going for that look you see on the turn of the century photographs. This was pretty close to what I wanted. I opted not to sepia tone the print. I think this posses a sort of "Ethereal" look.

One Of The Fundraiser Pictures

The Relay for Life Easter Bunny fundraiser went quite well on Saturday. Here is one of the proofs from Saturday's shoot. Cute little girl even came with her own set of bunny ears.

Counter Point

This guy was spoiling for an argument. Him and his teen son tried to provoke several people but got no takers. He did not have much to say when when one lady (carrying a picture of her son in his Marine Uniform) asked him when his son was going join the infantry.
His message seems reasonable to me from this photograph, but it doesn't show the larger sign at his feet with the "You Might Be A Stupid Liberal If". It only served to make people more dismissive of him and the valid point made about our military. I mentally placed him in the same group of people that were comparing Bush with the Anti-Christ. Both ends of the spectrum seemed equally ignorant.
I guess I identified with the more moderate people I saw that were not "Peaceniks", but simply upset with the squandering of vast amounts of money as well as the lives brave young men and women. I have talked with a lot of people that have been in the "Sandbox" and there seems to be one common conclusion. It does not matter when we get out. 10 weeks from now or 10 years from now, these people are going to have a civil war.

Back In The Groove

God I love crisp spring evenings! The sun on your face, the green grass under foot, and 15 insane girls on the soccer pitch! With the start of spring workouts, we're back in the "groove". The days are getting longer and the team is getting stronger. I know I am really going to miss days like this when the girls are grown and gone.

Beyond Silverton

This from the back road to Silver Falls State Park. I made the mistake of using mapquest to plot a route and ended up quite lost (it sent me down a logging road to NO WHERE). The upside to being lost were the great views from the back roads.

Took a little day trip up to Silver Falls, in Silverton. Not the best day for photographs but pretty enjoyable as a family outing. This is the main South Fall.

A Rooster In Da House?

This little guy has decided to make his home at the 5th Street Public Market. It's pretty funny to watch him scare the hell out of unsuspecting shoppers. Someone will walk to close, not noticing him and he'll let out a loud crow. I think one lady about wet her pants right before I took this picture.
